Welcome Quebec Chapter!
Local Chapters | Connect. Support. Inform. Strengthen.
The brain child of the FSHD Society, local chapters allow you to connect with others who understand FSHD, support you in your journey, and provide you with valuable resources and information to keep you informed.
Across North America there are 37 chapters, with four of those in Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario…and most recently QUEBEC!
Join your local chapter today! If you don’t see a chapter near you and are interested in starting a new one, contact the FSHD Society.
A heartfelt THANK YOU and WELCOME to both Louis-Vincent Côté and his father, Jean Sylvain Côté for leading the Quebec Chapter! We can’t wait to see all of the wonderful work you do to strengthen the community.

Louis-Vincent Côté
I was diagnosed with FSHD at the age of 15. Since then, I have lost several physical abilities. I can no longer run, use stairs, or stand up without using support. Despite these challenges, I successfully achieved my goal of becoming a CPA. I currently work as a financial analyst at one of the largest law firms in Quebec. Although I can no longer practice most sports, I still have a strong interest in professional sports.
So far, I have participated in two clinical studies to help find a cure for FSHD. Wanting to contribute further to the cause, I accepted the opportunity to lead the Montreal Chapter.

Jean Sylvain Côté
I live on the South Shore of Montreal in a beautiful city called Mont-Saint-Hilaire. My son, Louis-Vincent was diagnosed with FSHD when he was fifteen. I also have a daughter, who does not have FSHD, who is studying to become an occupational therapist. I’ve been working in the pharmaceutical industry for over 30 years. My current role is Senior Medical Science Liaison in a small biotechnology company specialized in hematology-oncology and neuroscience. I was always a very active person and practiced many sports throughout my life. For the last eight years, CrossFit has been my passion (regular classes and competitions).
